The Biblical saying attributed to Jesus about rendering unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and rendering unto God that which belongs to God is perhaps the main lesson I have had to come to terms with in 2019. I am a spiritual person by nature. I love my tarot decks and oracle decks. I love my crystals and giving readings. And that is where my problems begin, but hardly where they end.
The physical world is a mental construct and it plays by physical world rules. It has no patience with the spiritual. There are laws to obey and bills to be paid. Crooked politicians seem to do well in the physical world. Spiritual teachers, not so much. And that is, in part, because spiritual people tend to have different values and rules about life and how to live it.
Within the realm of the spiritual community I find that there are those who work diligently. They show up, work hard, but some have a tough time with finances. Finances lie in the realm of the material. And there is little crossover between the the physical/financial realm and the spiritual. Though, I must admit, it doesn't have to be that way.
So, what is the spiritual person suppose to do? Spiritual people have house payments/rent, car notes, children to raise and all the other physical world accoutrement that everyone else (and by that, I mean those who are more physically focused) does. Good question. Which leads me right back to rendering onto Caesar that which is Caesar's.
If you are by nature a spiritual person, and you are earning well, congratulations. If you are not earning well, don't beat yourself up. It doesn't help, nor change anything. Chances are, you will probably need to embrace the physical world more. I don't mean you need to behave like a televangelist, hawking God and imploring people to help you buy a new jet. I mean you will need to embrace the brass tacks of the physical world and find a viable means of employment, and achieve some degree of balance in the physical world. That's not easy if the physical world is problematic/uncomfortable for you to deal with.
My work as an intuitive led me to deal with a lot of different types ofpeople. That was the advantage of working for a large metaphysical bookshop chain. Lots of clients, lots of calls from many different types of people. My least favorite client was the heavily materialistic minded person looking to game the system via spirituality in order to find wealth, love or some other flavor of success. There is no spiritual 'one size fits all' pill that I could give said person to help him/her achieve their goals. Bad news for my client and really bad news for me as a reader. There goes my fee.
Balance in all things ultimately is what I think humanity is in the process of learning. Too heavy an emphasis in the physical is problematic in that life becomes a zero sum game. There's no impetus to be kind, generous or otherwise concerned with humans other than one's self because ultimately you work hard, die and it's just game over.
The flip side of the coin is you may become so content in meditation that you cannot support yourself well or those whom you love. And that's not a viable plan either.
Perhaps truth, at least in physical form, lies somewhere in the middle. I'm speaking in broad terms here. The spiritual people I worked with were by in large hard working, honest in sharing their wisdom and just wanted to earn a decent living.
But money lies in the realm of the material world. You can probably see the inherent problem in this setup.
As we move through this Capricorn period, the sign of government and great wealth/materialism, you might want to ask yourself where you fall on the spectrum of materialism vs spirituality. How are you doing financially? Are you doing really well financially, but eschewing all that is spiritual? Or are you at the other end of the scale embracing your spirituality, but struggling with financial/material concerns?
Taking the time to determine how you might achieve balance so that you are kind to the humans/beings you encounter and can meet your physical world needs without greed/excess will allow you to not only sleep well at night, but also deliver you to that place where you render unto Caesar what is his with relative ease, while simultaneously having a wonderful connection with the realm of spirit.
Your birth chart probably has a lot to say about where you fall on the spectrum of spirituality and material world success. It can be inciteful around your values and how you might earn well based on said values. If I can be of service to you in clarifying your path in any way, I would be honored to do so. Blessings to you and yours on your journey through 2020.
